I am called Imunoglukan®, or IMG® for short.
I am a natural substance, and the most important ingredient in every PLEURAN product. It's the secret that makes all Imunoglukan P4H® products so effective. Would you like to know how I came into being and where our company has been headed to the present day?
For the first few years my home was a laboratory
The effects of beta-glucans on immunity had begun to be noticed much earlier. They therefore set to work on experiments which inspired beta-glucan supporters. They saw great potential in them, and so began to investigate them. One of these researchers was Dr. Gabriž, one of the founders of PLEURAN.
It was somewhere during this 20-year period of research, surrounded by first-class scientists, that I was born. I am a purified substance of natural origin. The method of my production is secret and patented. Simply, I'm unique.
They named the company after pleuran
Do you know why the company that makes me is called PLEURAN? It's symbolic. Beta-glucan, which is obtained from oyster mushrooms, is called pleuran. At that time, only three people worked at PLEURAN. Family. They took me in as if I were their own son. They named me lMG® and responsibly readied me for the trip to the pharmacies. Together with vitamin C, they placed me into capsules, and the first product, Imunoglukan P4H® was created. I was the main ingredient. They dressed me in packaging, invented beautiful graphics for me and provided me with everything I needed.
I was finally ready for sale!
I couldn't wait! But the first days on the shelves were long. No one recognised me and didn't know what was hidden inside of me.
My new family started to visit distributors, pharmacies and physicians. They presented them with the research, studies and publications which they had been collecting over the past 20 years. They praised me.
As soon as that happened, I stopped being bored on the shelves. People began taking me home, and almost 80% started using me regularly. Imunoglukan P4H® really did help them support their immunity!
I also started to spiritedly bring children into the mix
Take a guess as to whom viruses and bacteria attack the most?
That's right, they're children who have runny noses and coughs now and again. Once again, I got back to the experts from PLEURAN, who, with the help of pediatricians, also developed my liquid form of Imunoglukan P4H®. It is just as effective in supporting immunity and does not have artificial colouring, flavours or gluten. Mums have loved me ever since.
New languages, new friends
They soon found out about my successes from abroad, and interest in me grew. The Czech Republic became the first stop. My story there was similar to the one at home. At first, no one recognised me. But over time, based on the experience of doctors, pharmacists and studies, they began to take an interest in me. I got to know more and more languages, and so I successfully expanded throughout the world.
A study was published internationally about me
I found myself in the important international journal, International Immunopharmacology, in which articles are selected by acclaimed experts and scientists. The aim of the study was to determine whether Imunoglukan P4H® helps children with recurrent respiratory infections. It turned out that investing in a study that confirmed my effectiveness paid off. This motivated everyone at PLEURAN to get to work on further studies and to develop new products consisting of me, the active ingredient, IMG®. How exciting!
Where and how do I originate?
The oyster mushroom grows in beds having the highest quality requirements. The mushrooms are carefully collected and transported for processing. Strict European food standards are followed during production, and thanks to a patented process I am created - the active ingredient IMG®.
They handle me with gloves and masks. My journey is full of regulations which are required by the strictest standards of pharmaceutical production. This is the reason PLEURAN's manufacturing facilities are monitored comprehensively. Everything simply has to be the 'best' here, otherwise all the years of research and investment would be wasted.
I am now 20 years old
They still make me according to the original formula. It's just that now I'm better known, more popular and more in demand. I am part of 8 health promoting products that can be bought in several forms and packagings in pharmacies. I already help support immunity in more than 30 countries worldwide. And our PLEURAN family has grown from three to 110 employees.
